Permits & Privileges
Space and rates for permits and privileges may be procured by applying to the Manager of the Fair. The fee for space is payable in advance.
Each concessionaire must confine himself to the space assigned to him. Failure to do this will subject him to forfeiture of his privilege without reimbursement.
The right is reserved to reject any application space which may be made, or to cancel at any time any contract previously entered into.
Rules & Regulations
This department will follow the General Rules & Regulations of this Fair.
Entries shall fall into two divisions as follows:
Adult Division: 18 years of age & over
Junior Division: 17 years of age & under
Ribbon Pint Awards: Purple -12, Blue-6, Red-4, White-2.
Each Dept. must have at least (5) entries to be judged to receive the cash prize.
Overall ribbon point winner in the Adult & Junior Divisions will each receive a cash award of $50.
Decisions of the judge will be final.
No one except the judge & the department clerk are to be in the building (specifically in the department area) at the time of judging.
All exhibits must be dropped off to the exhibit hall Wednesday, March 5, 2025, between 8:00am-5:00pm.
Exhibitors may enter (5) items per lot unless otherwise stated by the Fair Rules & Regulations.
All judging is based on the Danish System. Entries will be judged on their own merit and not in competition.
All entries must be made/grown by the exhibitor in the last year. Anything prior can be “display only” exhibits and are not eligible for judging.
All exhibits must be removed by Sunday between 8:00am-12:00pm. If not removed the exhibit becomes property of the La Paz County Fair and will be disposed of accordingly.
The Fair shall in no way be responsible for any accident, fire, or theft.
The Fair Association will use diligence to insure the safety of livestock or articles entered for exhibit after their arrival and placement, but under no circumstances will it be responsible for any loss, injury, or damage to or occasioned by or arising from, any animal or exhibit. Insurance, if desired, must be arranged by the exhibitor.
All rights to sell or barter any product on the Fairgrounds will be reserved by the Fair Association.
Any and all complaints which involve the Fair or its practices must be made in writing in duplicate copies to the Fair Manager by Sunday.
Exhibitors in all departments must be residents of La Paz County, which includes all areas on Highway 95, or Vidal, Big River, and Parker Dam areas. Non-Residents, such as winter visitors, producing exhibits within this area are eligible.
The Fait reserves the right to reject any exhibit if it is objectionable or requires excessive amount of space or if the department is full.
Under no circumstances will exhibitors be permitted access to displays.
The La Paz County Fair Association reserves the final and absolute right to interpret these rules and regulations and arbitrarily to settle and determine all matters, questions and differences in regard thereto, or otherwise arising out of, connected with, or incident to the Fair, and may amend or add any regulations at their discretion.
An entry can only be entered in one department.
All participants in the La Paz County Fair must comply with the General Rules & Regulations and the Various Department Rules.
Livestock Rule & Regulations are under the Livestock section.

Special Rules
Cotton display boxes will contain 20 open bolls of seed cotton; 1 lb. of cotton seed; 1 lb. of lint cotton. Grain display boxes will contain at lest (5) mature heads or cobs and 2 qtrs. of combine run, or hand shelled harvested grain, beans or seen (grain can be cleaned). On small acreages of Indian corn, 2 qtrs. of grain will not be required. Photographs of the grower in the field of the crop entered will be greatly appreciated, but not required. Field crop yield and quality data should also be submitted, if available.

Rules
All horticulture exhibits must have been grown and cared for by exhibitor. Containers will be provided for all cut specimens, fruits and vegetables. All specimens should be clean and insect free. The Fair has the right to disqualify any exhibit that does not conform to the schedule. A card displaying the common name and botanical name must be provided with each entry. Exhibitors are allowed unlimited entries in each lot IF EACH IS A SEPARATE NAMES VARIETY, TYPE OR COLOR. Lots will be divided as entries warrant. All will be judged against variety. Conditioning plant material-LL FRESH PLANT MATERIAL SHOULD BE CONDITION SEVERAL HOURS BEFORE EXHIBITING OR ARRNAGING. It is best to cut specimens in late afternoon or early morning. A sharp knife or clippers should be used to cut stem on a long slant for the greatest intake of water. Place cut specimens in a vessel of deep tepid water in a cool, dark place for several hours or overnight. Plants that exude a milky substance or have woody stems require other conditioning actions.
